Booking & Quote

Is the online quote a confirmed reservation?

No. The quote is an estimate only. After you submit it, our team reviews availability and contacts you by WhatsApp or email to confirm all details and finalize the reservation.

How long does it take to get a confirmation?

Usually within a few hours on business days. During peak season (December-January) it may take a bit longer. If urgent, WhatsApp us directly.

Can I choose the exact vehicle?

Yes. In the quote form you can select a specific vehicle from our fleet, not just a category. Final confirmation is subject to availability on your dates.

What does "Pending Confirmation" mean?

It means your request has been received but not yet confirmed. A member of our team will reach out to verify availability, finalize pricing, and lock in your booking.

Requirements

What is the minimum age to rent a car?

The minimum age is 18 years old. There is no extra young driver surcharge.

What documents do I need?

You need a valid passport and a driver's license from your country of residence. US, Canadian, EU and most international licenses are accepted in Costa Rica. An International Driving Permit is optional but not required.

Is a credit card required?

A credit or debit card is used for the security deposit hold. Cash payments are accepted for the rental fee and may qualify for a discount. Full details are confirmed at booking.

Pickup & Delivery

Do you deliver at SJO airport?

Yes. We deliver vehicles at Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in Alajuela. A $10 airport delivery fee applies. We coordinate your pickup time and location directly.

Do you deliver at LIR airport in Liberia?

Yes. We deliver at Daniel Oduber Airport (LIR) in Liberia, Guanacaste. A $10 airport delivery fee applies.

Can you deliver to my hotel?

Yes. Hotel delivery is available. Fees depend on location and are confirmed during booking.

Can I return the car at a different location?

Yes. One-way returns are possible depending on destination. This is confirmed and priced during the booking process.

Vehicles & Insurance

Are all vehicles automatic?

Yes. Our entire fleet is automatic and air-conditioned.

Do I really need a 4x4 in Costa Rica?

For many popular destinations - Monteverde, Nosara, Malpais, Corcovado, Turrialba - a 4x4 is strongly recommended. Roads can be unpaved, steep, and muddy in rainy season. If you're unsure, ask us about your specific route.

What insurance is included?

Basic liability coverage (TPL) is included. Full coverage is available on request and is priced manually. We explain all options clearly before you confirm.

Is there a security deposit?

A security deposit may be required and is held on your credit or debit card. The exact amount depends on the vehicle and rental period, and is confirmed at booking.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit cards, debit cards, and cash. Cash payments may qualify for a discount of up to 5%, subject to confirmation.

Do prices change by season?

Yes. We have three pricing seasons: Green Season (May 1 - Nov 15), High Season (Nov 16 - Dec 19 & Jan-Apr), and Peak Season (Dec 20 - Jan 5). The quote tool calculates the correct rate automatically based on your pickup date.

Are there hidden fees?

No. Extras like airport delivery, child seat, additional driver and insurance are shown clearly in your quote. What you see is what you pay.
