Terms & Conditions

1. General

These terms govern the use of rental services provided by Costa Rica Rental Services, based in Alajuela, Costa Rica. By submitting a quote request or confirming a reservation, you agree to these terms.

2. Reservations

  • Online quotes are estimates only and do not constitute a confirmed reservation.
  • A reservation is confirmed only after written confirmation by our team via WhatsApp or email.
  • Final pricing may differ from the estimate based on availability, season, or additional services.

3. Driver requirements

  • Minimum driver age: 18 years old.
  • Valid driver's license from country of residence required.
  • Valid passport required at vehicle pickup.
  • Additional drivers must be declared and may incur additional fees.

4. Vehicle use

  • Vehicles must be used in accordance with Costa Rican traffic laws.
  • Off-road use beyond vehicle capability is prohibited.
  • Smoking is not permitted in any vehicle.
  • The renter is responsible for any damage, fines, or tolls incurred during the rental period.

5. Payment & deposit

  • Payment methods: credit card, debit card, cash.
  • Cash discounts of up to 5% may apply, subject to confirmation.
  • A security deposit may be required and will be held on a credit or debit card.
  • The deposit is released after the vehicle is returned in the agreed condition.

6. Insurance

Basic third-party liability (TPL) coverage is included in all rentals. Full coverage (Collision Damage Waiver) is available on request and must be confirmed prior to pickup. The renter is responsible for damages not covered by the selected insurance plan.

7. Cancellations

Cancellation policies are agreed upon at the time of booking confirmation. Please contact us at reservations@costaricarentalservices.com as early as possible if you need to modify or cancel a confirmed reservation.

8. Liability

Costa Rica Rental Services is not liable for loss of personal belongings left in vehicles, indirect damages, or circumstances beyond our control (natural disasters, road closures, etc.).
