Do I really need a 4x4 in Costa Rica?
For many popular destinations - Monteverde, Corcovado, Nosara, Malpais, Playa Samara, Turrialba - a 4x4 is strongly recommended. Roads can be unpaved, muddy in rainy season, and include river crossings. Even in dry season, the ground clearance matters.
What 4x4 models do you have available?
Our 4x4 fleet includes the Suzuki Grand Vitara 2015, Mitsubishi Outlander 2019, Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 and Kia Sorento 2019. All are automatic, air-conditioned and regularly serviced.
Can I pick up a 4x4 at SJO or LIR airports?
Yes. We offer airport delivery at both Juan Santamaria (SJO) and Daniel Oduber (LIR) airports. A $10 airport delivery fee applies. We coordinate your pickup time and location with you directly by WhatsApp.
What is included in the 4x4 rental price?
The daily rate covers the vehicle, basic insurance (liability) and A/C. Full coverage is available and quoted manually. Extras such as child seat, additional driver, and airport delivery are shown clearly in your quote.
Is the 4x4 suitable for beach driving or river crossings?
Our 4x4s have good ground clearance and 4WD capability. For beach driving, only do so in approved areas. For river crossings, always assess water depth first and contact us if unsure - we can advise on current road conditions.
